No, don't count the fish oil toward your fat blocks for meals. Try 1 1/2 bar when you need a quick 3 block Zone meal and have no time. Works great! Yes, 1 cup of cooked steel cut oatmeal is 3 carb blocks (that's 3 x 1/3 cup). Oh cool power yoga! It requires a lot of strength and stamina. It's a more male oriented kind of yoga based on warrior positions, many standing positions requiring a lot of strength. Whether it increases your block amount depends on your current LBM and activity level and all of your activities considered together. If you want to post your current workouts (type and time spent on each per week) I'll be happy to suggest the appropriate activity level to use for your block calculation.

Hi vonda,

Without your LBM I can't suggest a block amount. To find your accurate block recommendation, put your stats into the Zone Block & Body Fat Calculator (link at right) and choose the "Active" level. Eating a better balance and tweaking according to Zone recommendations for hunger, if needed, should eliminate your hunger. Good luck!

for the risk of sounding stupid what is LBM. i did put it in the calculator. and low and behold the only thing that changes it is an extreme athlete. and i dont consider my self that. i have been using diffrent food more to what the book says and i do notice a change in hunger. i pretty much train wrecked sun at the cheese cake factory although i had the lettuce wraps not to bad alot of sugar in the 3 sauces. but cant resist the low carb cheese cake with whip cream and nuts. i cant eat sugar having low blood sugar, even the sauces put me to sleep like a baby. but back on track now. do you have any quick dinner ideas. no fruit at night it keeps me up and when you have to sleep around 5 it makes for a ong hard day.
have a great day sue. p.s baby is so cute

Hi vonda,

Thanks. He's my grandson. :-)

LBM = Lean Body Mass. It is one of the items on your calculator result. Use the calculator to determine your blocks. The activity level is one of the items you enter along with your stats. You should choose "Active" when you enter your stats.

You can see some of my dinner ideas in my photobucket album(link in my signature below) and also find some of my recipes here:

Good luck!

Sue...I have a question, I was reading through here...I too thought that 1/3 cup steel oats (cooked) was only 1 block of carb??? That's how it's listed on the list of food items. Am I incorrect?
Thanks!
Sue

Hi Anna, maybe you misread my post (10-1-09, 5:16 pm). I stated that 1 cup is 3 C blocks, which is correct.
