There are days between working out and heading to work that I do not have enough time to get a warm breakfast, so I have been an apple and a ZP bar...Is this too much/not enough?
For a snack - I have been eating a 1/2 apple or orange, 6 peanuts, and a single serving of string cheese...Any ideas of other items (I have two books, "A week in the zone" and Zone meals in seconds) but I haven't really dove into the protein powder...
Suggestions?

ZP bar is 2 blocks.
Apple is 2 block carb, so you also need to add 2 protein and 2 fat to it for balance. You might keep some almonds and maybe some low fat jerky or cheese for the protein for those rush around days. |

I still need to add protein and fat, even with the Zone Perfect bar? I thought since this was loaded with protein that I was fine on this end...
I should have mentioned that sometimes I eat the egg beaters, bacon, and fruit...

You should maintain the balance at every sitting (meal), so yes you still need to add the extra with the apple. ZP bar is 40-30-30 by itself. |

Also, string cheese should have enough fat, so you shouldn't have to add peanuts.
There is a good printout list of snack ideas in this site somewhere--try searching for it. It's somewhere near the food block guide. |
