Does anyone have some tips on easy 1 block snacks? I am going into my second month in the zone, doing well but find myself getting frustrated by having to figure out a protien, carb and fat for a quick snack. Prior to the zone I would grab a piece of fruit alone, or a string cheese alone, or some nuts alone.....now I know that is a perfect zone snack all put together, but I don't always want all that or want to prepare anything.

Other than Zone bars, does anyone have ideas on this subject, either store bought or hand made ahead of time to just grab and go?

I use cottage cheese a lot for snacks. Cottage cheese with some frozen blueberries and almonds is one of my favorites!

Cottage cheese with some salsa and guacamole is also very delish!

Another is applesauce with protein powder and peanut butter (or other preferred nut butter).

You can buy Zone cereal or Kashi Go Lean, and divide it up into 1 block servings. If using Kashi, then you will need to add some nuts for fat.

Here is another one, but a bit more unfavorable: 1 wasa crisp cracker with an ounce of cheese melted over the top.

4 oz red wine with an ounce of cheese (string cheese is lower in fat than most other cheeses, unless you use a lowfat cheese).

Shake mix mixed into yogurt. And, doesn't have to be Zone shake mix, just look at the labels of other brands, to determine an appropriate one. Curves has a chocolate shake mix, and I have used it mixed into yogurt with peanut butter, and it is really good! This shake mix is lower in carb content than the Zone shake mix, but I think that helps balance out the yogurt, as yogurt is on the higher end of the zone ratio.

OK, I will stop now, and let some others spring some ideas for you!
