I've had the great fortune of starting at 14 blocks 16 months ago to now requiring 20 blocks.

My most recent increase was from the 17-18 range. I took my measurements again and started doing crossfit. I increased my activity level with my new measurements and since you have to round them off on the calculator I decided 19 or 20 should work. My goal is 20 blocks a day. With my new schedule I have had a hard time getting 20 blocks every day. On my old schedule I would eat 17-18 blocks every day and felt as if I was always in the zone.

Now that I am at 20 I had a few days where I only got 18 or 19 blocks in for the day. On those days where I was short I would wake up in the middle of the night and feel hungry. If I did sleep through the night I would be starving when I woke up in the morning.

During the day I felt as if I was in the zone all day long.

I've even tried 5 block meals but felt they were too heavy for me.

My current plan when I work out in the evening.
    B 4b 7am, S 2b 10am, L 4b 12pm, S 2b 3pm, S 3b 5pm, WO 1hr 7pm, D 3b 8:30, S 2b 11pm. Or something like that I have a hard time with the evening timing.

    Morning WO
    S 2b 4:45am, WO 1hr 5am, B 4b 7:30am, S 2b 10am, L 4b 12pm, S 2b 3pm, D 4b 6:30, S 2b 10pm

AM & PM WO is were I have the most trouble.
    S 2b 5am, WO 1hr 5am, B 4b 7:30am, S 2b 10am, L 4b 12pm, S 2b 3pm, S 3b 5pm, WO 1hr 7pm, D 3b 8:30 and I am ready for bed. I feel like I am eating all day long and I always seem to miss l of my snacks every couple days.

Then my weekend schedule is even different from those three.

I used to have only 2 schedules. Weekday working out 5am Monday - Friday and weekend was up in the air. Now I have like 3 different schdules and it is hard to remember to eat. I am never hungry during the day.

Does any one else have this trouble?

I've only been doing the crossfit for a few weeks now so maybe it will take me a little longer to get a good routine going.

I've had to start keeping a journal because I can't remember if I ate enough or not.

    Just venting thanks,

    Matt

Well, wish I had your problem! LOL!

Seriously, though, perhaps you could sneak in some of those extra blocks with a glass of milk (or soymilk if you are opposed to dairy). Might help you get the extra blocks in without it feeling like you are eating a ton of food.

Doh I forgot about milk. I've been doing protein powder with water but the carbs are hard to fit in sometimes.

I'll try a couple blocks of milk a day and see how that works.

    Thanks,

Matt, my husband has a large block requirement and will drink a Zone shake for a snack, or you might say an additional partial meal (3 blocks). He also eats whole Zone bars for some snacks (2 blocks). He usually eats 4 block meals and gets the rest of his blocks in with snacks.

I'm eating 13 or 14 a day now, and have run up against similar concerns to yours (need to make sure I get all the blocks in). I do 3 block meals and get the other 4 or 5 blocks from snacks.

    Thanks to both of you.

A lot of it has to do with scheduling and routine. I am confident I will get it dialed in. I followed the same routine for over 3 months at 17-18 blocks & another 3 months @ 15-16 blocks. I had the same schedule just had to add in the extra blocks. Now I have a different schedule and have to add in the blocks so it was a little harder.

    Just whining I guess.

    Thanks again,
