I just got home from the grocery store and was greeted in the checkout line with a headline on Woman's World magazine - "Canadian Miracle Diet Finally in the U.S" with subtitles like "Weight just melts off" (I didn't buy it and didn't write down all the annoying quotes). Turns out it's called the G.I. Diet (stands for, can you guess??? Glycemic Index!) Some doctor up there turned the favorable, unfavorable into Green (eat all you want), Yellow (eat with some caution), and Red (eat sparingly) marked foods. Nothing about balancing, but the "sample" recipes all had a fair balance, at least at first glance, I didn't take the time to calculate blocks :?
All of these books are taking the same ideas with a different marketing twist, but I agree with whoever said it that if you don't understand WHY you're losing weight, it's much harder to keep it off, so all these new miracle diets will be another flash in the pan while we all sit on the REAL miracle eating lifestyle.
Anyway, I remember a similar thread to this started by Ronica from a side-thread on weight loss - i.e. why all the hype about other diets and the Zone, from which they all appear to come, is ignored (and I can't find the originals, sorry Ronica!). So here's another call. Let's tell the world about the Zone whenever we see it ignored. And Woman's World left the opening in a little box in the corner of the article which said:
[b:31b21755d6]Have you lost weight successfully? Tell us about it at[/b:31b21755d6]:
WWdietsuccess@bauerpublishing.com
So let's go. Everyone who has successfully lost weight on the Zone, LET 'EM KNOW! And if your health problems have also been solved, LET 'EM KNOW! Let's flood them with testimonial emails so that the next time I go to the market I see "Ancient (1995) Miracle Diet Re-Discovered" "Weight Just Melts Off" "I've Never Been Healthier" and "Tired No More!" :D
Have a great week, all!
