I am new to this forum and thought I would post a helpful website that helps me on a daily basis. www.fitday.com

By entering the foods you eat, it shows how the percentages needed to stay on the Zone diet. Unfortunately, if you are watching anything other than Carbs, Fats, Protein (i.e., fiber, cholesteral) you won't be given the calculations for these areas.

I've lost the weight I've wanted to use since using this website coupled with the Zone diet way of life and continue to maintain. We all have our "cheat" days (mine is going to be tonight), but it helps to have a website to help adjust accordingly. :)

Thanks for the tip. I have used fitday in the past, too.

The only big problem with it is that it calculates all of the protein, carb and fat in a given ingredient. For instance, if you enter cottage cheese, there is also some carb content, which adds to the carb total, and it may look skewed at the end of the day.

But, it is easy to use. Especially once you get your databank of frequently used foods established, and get some things entered that are not listed.

I have been playing around with Fitday, too. I have noticed that it's difficult to get the percentages to "work" exactly as I want them to, probably for the reasons you describe. I think it's still useful as long as my protein, carbs and fats are in close range of 30/30/40.
