I've been unable to find their frozen zone meals in our local markets, but they do have a Web site that I was thinking of ordering through. http://www.cedarlanetogo.com/s-3-zo...to-go.aspx Just wondering if anyone uses the product and if so what do you think of the meals? Many thanks, cici |

So, I went ahead and ordered some products from Cedarland. I'll let you know how they are.
It's hard to believe that no one has tried the meals. I'm just looking for something easy to fill in for meals during those times when I've run out of time and need something quick for lunch or dinner. These meals sound like a good option.

Thanks cici, let us know what you think of them. Sounds like a good way to get some variety. Paul |

I actually ordered about 20 buritos from them about five months ago....I liked them a lot, but I haven't tried any of the other meals. Yep, I haven't seen any of them in my market area either....I've noticed some of the South Beach frozen meals are pretty Zone friendly, and those are readily available in this market and very inexpensive!! |

I saw on their website there are 2 stores within 35 miles of me. I will have to check them out. One of the stores is Meijers and the other is called Community market, it used to be an IGA. We dont eat alot of frozen meals, but my husband works a weird shift, its 3rd shift most of the time, and 2 or 3 days a week he has to work 12 hours, from 7 PM to 7AM. He likes his supper at breakfast 9 AM and it gets me all messed up thats when he does the 12 hours. So the meals would help I think. Thanks for the info. Patti |

The only problem with these meals is the sodium contect.. check it out it's VERY high! then compare it to how much sodium you should consume daily... it takes a big chunk of it if not all... a lot of sodium is not good for you, high blood pressure, makes you retain water, ect...
I would say avaoid eating this type of processed foods! stick to the more natural, home made stuff |

Here's an interesting bit of info regarding sodium and the Zone. Dr. Sears has explained how the lower insulin levels of the Zone disarm the mechanism by which sodium contributes to high blood pressure and fluid retention. That's not a license to go crazy with sodium; everything in moderation! |

Sue, can you direct me to where you read this before. I remember reading that same thing too, but I'll be damned if I can remember where. Thanks in advance! |

Not sure if it's in a Zone book, but I think it was in "Ask Dr. Sears" on DrSears.com. But not all those past Q&A's are archived on that site now. If I come across it , I'll post it. Regardless, I'm certain it is reliable information. |

Just thought I'd follow up re my post. I ordered the medium sampler box of burritos and two kinds of pizza. The box arrived as promised. No problems at all with ordering online and free delivery. The burritos and pizzas are very good, and I'd definitely order again from the company. I still have trouble reading and evaluating food labels, so I'm wondering what to have along with a burrito or a pizza. I guess a salad or steamed veggies never hurts, but I'd sure like to know for certain what I can add to the meal. Can anyone help with that?
Thanks. cici |

hmmmm, I would've thought the zone product would be zoned already, as no side dishes. |

I thought the same, Janet. But, I just gave the lables a better read and here is an example for one burrito: It contains: 27 grams protein 29 grams carbs (I already subtracted the fiber) 13 grams fat So that is an additional 6 grams protein, 2 grams carbs, 4 grams fats for the burrito. (I think I may be getting the hang of the food labels afterall :)) Should I just skip a snack on the days I have a burrito for lunch? Or should I have something else with the burrito? And, what would I have? Anyone have any thoughts on this? Thanks. cici |

Using the numbers you posted, there are about 4 blocks of protein, 3 blocks of carbs and 4 blocks of fat. Sounds like, if you are a 4-block meal eater, you just need to add one carb. Or, if you are a three-block eater, you can eat half the burrito (2 protein, 1.75 carb, 2 fat) and add a block of protein, 1.25 blocks of carbs and a block of fat from something else. That would probably make a meal with more variety anyway. |

Matt,
Thanks so much! Sometimes the math throws me, but you've shown me it's easier than I think. Now I'll be able to figure out the pizza labels.
Appreciate it!
