Okay, one more question... :? Right now I've had my Zone program set up for me by my gym. They've given me 3 3-block meals, and 2 2-block snacks based on my activity level. I am currently a PhD student, however, with way too much on my plate -- consequently, I sometimes have the occasional week where I can't make it to the gym quite as often (maybe only twice), or I only make it to martial arts once... do I need to adjust my meals to account for this? Should I have smaller snacks, say, on those days? Or should it be the opposite -- i.e. on days when I work out a lot (my max is usu. 1-2 hours at the gym and a few hours at martial arts) just add a block snack if I need it (feel extra hungry)? Sorry for all the questions... still getting used to this eating thing... and I'm paranoid I'm going to mess up and run out of time to look better before my wedding! Thanks!

First of, I'm not totally sure on this one, so if anyone knows a better answer, go on and correct me. Part of regular excersize conditions your body to burn more calories even when you're not working out, sos from this side, I'd say to leave your block amounts constant if it's really one occassionally that you miss a work-out.

Hi, When you have a week where you miss workouts you can probably cut down by a block or two. Figure your block needs when at the "light" activity level as opposed to your current "active" or "very active" level (whichever you are using) to determine the number of blocks you would need for your LBM when you're less active. Use that amount on the weeks you don't have time to exercise. If you become too hungry on a consistent basis when trying that, go up a block. In the Zone, you are basically trying to eat the amount necessary to maintain you LBM at your current activity level. Sue
