Trying to get back on track and found that Dr. Sears has a website.

    My Background

When I was 16 yrs old I lost over 100 lbs and gained it back over the next 10 years.

In 1996 my back went out and that is when I first went on the Zone. I lost over 100 lbs again and felt better than I ever had in my life.

Again, I fell off of the wagon several weeks ago I was up to 291 lbs and my back went out again. I have been back on the zone for the last few weeks and am down to 277.

I assume everyone on this site is familiar with trying to diet. I am 42 years old and it gets tougher each time. Even though I have lost over 100 lbs twice in my life, i have lost 20, 30, 50 lbs many many times.

Hope to stick with it this time and lose 70 lbs and keep it off. I like to hunt and that means hiking up and down mountains and being in shape really helps.

Hi Paul! Nice to meet you! Feel free to post in the Wt Loss forum , too, if you like! Sounds like you alreadyknow how to do the Zone. There's no need to let past experiences color this one. Giving a health focus to the Zone rather than a diet /wt loss focus , may help you stay at a low weight forever. Wow, cool pic! :)

Sue, thanks for the welcome. It is frustrating to be able to go a year or so doing the right things and then falling off the wagon. I hope this time I stick with it. That is one of the reasons i signed into the forum for moral support.

You saw the pics of my oldest and youngest son with the oryx before i took it off. My 10 year old shot it. Some of the best meat to eat as well. I took it off because I am new here and didnt want to freak anyone out. Once I am here awhile i will post a hunting pic as an avatar.

    Damn I missed the pic!

Welcome aboard. I love to hunt just haven't in years. Living in Socal makes it expensive.

Good luck this time around. I'm 38 now and plan to keep this as a life style. Hopefully you will too. The zone works for the diet but looking at it for diet only is not what it is all about as you know.

Stick to it and good luck.

Put the picture up if some one is offended they can complain to admin and if it goes against the rules of the forum you take it down if asked.

Hey Paul, it just dawned on me! You're 42. A very good number to be, almost as good as 55! I was 42 when I said goodbye to my 100 pounds, 13 years ago. Maybe 42 will be your turning point, too!

Matt, gotta be quick around here! LOL! It was a huge beast of a thing with the coolest antlers. It dwarfed the 3 people who were behind it in the pic!

Paul, you ought to put it back up! :-)

Nobody can say I have to be asked twice. I am not ashamed of hunting, but, being new I wanted to get a feel for the site.

Matt, I grew up in Riverside CA, and like you said hunting in So. Cal is a tough proposition. I went out of state some and still found some good places to go. I still go out to CA every 2 weeks because that is where my businesses are. By the way those trips are the toughest times to stay on a diet.

Sue, I know that the Zone is the best lifestyle because i experienced it and I hope 42 is my magic number as well. Crazy that you feel better than you ever felt before but you still go for the instant gratification of something like vanilla ice cream, brownie and hot fudge. Sweets were always my biggest enemy.

    Thanks for the great welcome.

I grew up in Michigan. I lived in Riverside for a year, 11 years ago. I'm now in OC. There is some hunting but I haven't found the time. Right now I'm more into Jeeping. I love the rock crawling, slow & steady not the crazy speed stuff.

I haven't done any long trips but the 3-4 day trips I have made I planned out all my meals and took everything we needed from the house. If you are eating out or on the go a fast food I used a lot the last year is Jack in the Box's fajita pita with side salad & water.

Hey Matt, thanks for the response. One good thing about hunting/scouting is you get a lot of exercise with out realizing it.

I do a certain amount of rock crawling with my tundra, but, not intentionally.

When I travel for work i often work till one in the morning and I am fighting boredom and eating is always the big temptation.
