For mid-morning/afternoon snacks...How do Power Bars or Snack Bars (llike Pria, Edge, SlimFast, Nutri-Grain etc...) compare with Dr. Sears' Zone bars? I'm looking for something quick/easy that I can stick in my desk at work versus having to fix... |

ZonePerfect bars are neither Zone nor Perfect...discuss.
But they're easier to find, and less expensive, than OmegaRx bars from Dr. Sears-dot-com.
Balance Bars, PR* Bars, or others that are 40/30/30 balanced are OK for snacks. Do not eat high-carb bars like PowerBars, as they are, well, high in carbs.
Some Zoners use Atkins bars, but they need to add some favorable carbs to their snack to make them Zone-friendly. |

My wife and I both like and eat Symmetry bars from Vitamin World.
They seem to last best, taste the least sweet, yet not taste bad. |

Do I eat one or 1/2 zoneperfect bars for a snack?
I know I read this somewhere, but can't find it now.
Thanks! |

I just love the [b:9d10a36e1c]DETOUR[/b:9d10a36e1c] bar by Designer Whey 1.4 oz. [b:9d10a36e1c]1/2[/b:9d10a36e1c] for a block P/C with a block of sliced almonds. 1 bar has 160 calories, total fat 5g (2 saturated) total carbs 13g (6 from sugar) Protein 15g. and the best part is they taste like a snickers bar. You can even get them at Walmarts. yummy! |
