I sometimes see on the Zone a recipe labeled by blocks and servings.Do I have to take it that the total amount of food considered has to be split among the indicated number of persons(servings),each of whom will then eat the indicated number of blocks? Thanks. Carlo Ferrando

It depends on the total number of blocks in the meal. If the blocks are 3 or 4 then that is one serving. If they are closer to 8-10 that is likely 2 servings, and so on. So if you see a meal which consists of 18 blocks, that is 6 servings 3 blocks each serving.

Thank you zone4me. I have another interpretation problem about mixed protein/carbohydrate foods such as milk and yogurt. In the food block guide, where it says that 1 cup of lowfat milk equals 1 block, does this mean 1 block protein plus 1 block carbohydrates or,say,0.4 blocks protein plus 0.6 blocks carbohydrates as it would come out from the concentration ratio of the two constituents? Thanks. It is simplest to keep the block portions to 1 or .5 so in the example of the 1 cup lowfat milk that would equal 1 block protein and 1 block carbohydrate. I hope this helps
