    Hi Everyone

I am new to the zone diet and will be starting this Monday. I'm 6ft 4ins tall,my weight is 508Lbs and I currently train three days a week powerlifting. I am also started to do 30-40mins a day Cardio each day of the week.

I'm waiting for my Omega capsules to come form the states as they are not on sale in the UK.

I wanted to know how much should I take, as I read on the article about Manuel Uribe, that he was taking 20mg per day of epa/dha, as I am a large guy how much should I take for the best effect.

    Any help would be great.....thanks!!!
    :)

robert, dr. sears says the ideal aa/epa ratio is 1.5. you need to get an aa/epa blood test in order to find out where you are now and verify whatever you are doing is around 1.5.

there is an eicosanoid status report link on the following page:

    http://drsears.com/ZoneResources/ta...fault.aspx

if you can't do the blood test, you could start out with 4 caps and then up the dose to +2 caps and then review your eicosanoid status report. you can keep adding until your report indicates you are taking too much.

i recommend that you get dr. sears anti-inflammatiion zone book - it is a good read and covers all this information, and more, in more detail than i can.

you have found the right place - and that is the first step to long term success. glad to have you on board.

    robert,

Barry Sears recommends 5 grams daily for a person with existing obesity (refer to page 81 of The Anti-Inflammation Zone").

    Hi Sue

I had my book and Omega/rx today yippeeeeeee, Ok I have read the part that you told me to read and that I should have 5mg per day of Omega/rx.

Now correct me if im wrong, but does 4 capsules = 2.5mg, so that I should be taking 8 capsules a day. The other thing is, when is the best time to take them as the book says before bed, but then also say to spread them out during the day, any advice on this??

Also I read on another post sue, that you have a chart that goes beyond 300lb to work out your body fat etc and blocks. I have done the waist/wrist calculations and end up with 58, but my body weight is 510lb now and it only goes to 300lb in the book.

I'm also trying to work out how many blocks I need during the day, as I cant seem to get on to the block calculator on the site.

Sorry for being a pain, but I not up on all this and have started reading the book, but want to start the diet ASAP.

Thanks for reading this and any help will be received with big thankyous:):D

Hey robert! Cool! Yes, it's like Christmas here at my house when a Zone Labs shipment arrives. Questions are good (you're not at pain)! Zone books are full of info, so plan to read an reread (and reread, reread, reread...). :-)

I just replied to your\calculator/block post.

    Re: Omega Rx:

Yes, 8 caps provides 5 grams. You may require more due to your amount of excess stored fat. Excess stored fat produces inflammation. If you decide to call Zone Labs (refere to my reply of today to your calc qn post), I would run this one by them too. See if you woiuld be better off with a dose of Omega RX that's higher than 5g.

Enjoy the book. I'll be glad to help if you have qns!
