I am new to the Zone (1 week now) and wondered if anyone is from Ontario? Also does anyone know where to get any Zone products? I have found Zone Bars at Fortino's and various health food stores, but I wondered about other products?

    Thanks

    Hi Nancy,

This site is the only place you can buy Zone Labs products, with the excception of Zone Cereal. The bars you found in the store could be Zone Perfect or some other brand with Zone in the name. Those aren't the same as the ones Zone Labs sells.

    BTW, I'm in Connecticut.

Thanks Sue for the info. I am going to compare the nutritional info on the ones I bought with the ones on this site. I wonder if they are an option or not. I have used them this week since I have started the Zone and it seems to be working but I want to make sure I am eating the right foods. We have a great health food store here and I will see if they have the Zone Cereal. I assume the Zone Labs ship into Canada so I will research that as well. BTW I lost 4.6 pounds my first week, so I am thrilled and I feel really good too !!!

Zone Perfect bars are not endorsed by Dr. Sears. Some people do not do as well with them as with the OmegaZone bars, sold on this site. However, you can try them and see if they are effective for you. Everyone is different, and responds differently to them.

You'e welcome Nancy! Congrats on a great start to the Zone! I'm one of those people who don't stay in the Zone with the copy cat products. I swear by Zone Labs foods. One additional little bit of info, Barry Sears has a US Patent on his Zone bars in relation to their ability to control insulin.

Hi Nancy. I'm from Ontario. I can't find zone products around here- I'm going to order from the U.S.

Can anyone give me their thoughts on the zone Cereal, shakes, and pasta? Are they worth trying?

I started the Zone on March 29th and as of yesterday I'm down 16 pounds. Everything was going great at first. No cravings, not hungry...and so it was easy to stay excited- but this past week, I felt hungry all the time even though I stayed "in the zone" I basically ate the same things that I was eating since I started. I was craving every known junk food and finally succumbed to some ice cream. :(

I'm wondering if this has happened to anyone else?
Any suggestions from long-time zoners would be greatly appreciated. I don't wanna fall off the wagon :D

Hi Marilyn! You're making great progress! Nice to meet you! Zone Labs foods are definitely worth it! The only place to purchase them in the US is from the Zone. They aren't available in retail stores (the exception may be the cereal.)

About the past week, there could be a number of reasons. Some of the more common are the amount of C, choices of C, amount of fat, and hormonal changes women experience throughout the month, or during menopause, etc. One of the great things about the Zone is that it can be adjusted to suit your needs. I'll be glad to help if you want to post more specifics about your meals and snacks this past week. I've had a lot of experience adjusting the Zone. Sometimes it takes a little detective work, but the results are well worth it!

Hi Sue, nice to meet you too! When I first started the zone, I stuck with favourable veggies and wholewheat pitas and tortillas for times where I 'needed' other carbs. I ate alot of the spaghetti-squash lasagna *YUMMY!* I avoided fruit for the first few weeks. These past couple of weeks I have eaten mostly fruit and wholegrain rye bread for Cs. Do you think that could be the reason? I'm still feeling a bit unfocused--kind of a brain fog?
For protein, I ate (and still am eating) deli turkey, ground turkey, low-fat cheese, egg-white omelettes and turkey burgers.

Thanks for your help! It's greatly appreciated! I'd like to read about your experience over the last 13 yrs -- is it posted in the forum somewhere?

    Thanks again!

    Hi Marilyn and Nancy
I am from Ontario too and haven't ever seen Zone products anywhere. When I first started, back in Oct, I wasn't part of the forum so didn't realize that the Zone Bars sold in the stores weren't the actual Zone Bars. I personally still lost weight but since I found out they aren't tested in the Zone Lab and aren't specific to Dr. Sears patent, I stopped buying them.
I've been ordering online, through international orders and it comes within 5-7 business days. I've tried all the Zone Bars, they are all good and the cereal. I stopped ordering the cereal b/c it's too good. May sound funny but I have a real sweet tooth so a 1/2 cup of cereal just isn't enough for me and I always eat more so I decided to stop buying it.
The forum is good to hear other's experiences and gain more information about the Zone. Welcome!

    Hi Marilyn!

Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner! We just arrived home from vacation late Monday.

Yes, your recent abundance of fruit/bread selections could absolutely result in "brain fog"! Another thing to consider is that egg whites, some deli meats and even some ground turkey is either fat free, or so low in fat that it's missing the small amount of fat that's expected to be in every low fat protein choice. 1.5 g fat is "hidden" in each block of lowfat P, and if missing must be added. It's needed in order to achieve insulin control. You could be giving yourself a double whammy between the fruit/bread, and possibly missing a little fat here and there.

My past experiences were in these forums at one time. I've submitted thousands of posts, but not all the past years of posts have been archived here, as the forum formats have changed several times. My previous username was slknorr, if you try a search (I tried and didn't find too many). Feel free to ask me anything. I'll be glad to try to help, and also to fill you in about my own experiences! BTW, I lost the weight with the plate method. I didn't begin doing the block method until after I'd been at my ideal weight for seveal years. In addition to the great wt loss and BP resuilts in my signature below, I've been through a ton of medical "stuff" in the past 8 yrs (unbelievable serious stuff like I had a benign brain tumor removed, breast cancer, melanoma, lost most of one eyelid to basal cell cancer, had a major surgery for a cogenital kidney condition, had tons of reconstructive surgery...I know...so much it's even bizarre sounding to me!). Enough about me for now!

    Keep in touch! Cheers!

Here is a link to a little more detail Sue shared not to long ago.

    http://www.zonediet.com/RESOURCES/F...fault.aspx

I'll brag for Sue this time. She has been through a lot and stuck with the zone when a lot of people probably would have given up. I have learned a lot more detail just from reading many of her answers to other's questions.

Happy Zoning everyone. I have visited Ontario a few times. I grew up across the river from Windsor.
