A couple years ago, I worked for an airline where I was required to sort and load freight. One night I was receiving freight at my workstation that was mis-routed and therefore did not belong at that workstation. Because this was the busy part of my shift, I had to toss box-after-box, piece-after-piece a good distance to the appropriate workstation. Doing this repetitive, overhand toss resulted in a pulled shoulder muscle where raising my arm over my head was accompanied with a sharp, stabbing pain. I never saw the dr. about it, injuries such as pulled muscles are common and being in good health, I thought it was unneccessary. The pain and injury went away on its own and I thought I was healed. Yet, two years after my injury, I still get the sharp, stabbing pain in the same shoulder when I do my One Arm Overhead Triceps Extension exercise or when I sleep on my stomach with my arms at head-level, cradling my pillow. Since I've been on the Zone meal plan, I do not have that shoulder pain! Is this because of the Zone menus I have been eating? Is it the fish oil capsules I've been taking? Or is it something else? Thanks for any thoughts! |
