    Buying supplimental antioxidants can add up to quite a lot of money. I currently do not take a vitamin C suppliment. I drink one glass of a fresh squeezed lemon, two cups of water and two packs of slenda to make lemonade. Dr. Perricone recommends ascorbyl palmitate as a vitamin C suppliment because it is fat soluble. What kind of vitamin C is in a Lemon or Lime? Could I get ascorbyl palmitate though a natural source? Also, he recommends Tocotrienol as a Vitamin E suppliment. The Tocotrienol is much more expensive than D-Alpha. Is it worth the extra money? I know it is recommended by Dr.Sears to take a E suppliment. " Vitamin E, Source Naturals, 1000 IU, 100 Softgels D-Alpha Tocopherol $ 15 dollars Tocotrienol, Source Naturals, 60 Softgels Vitamin E (as natural d-alpha tocopheryl) 100 IU 330% Total Tocotrienols 50 mg + Yielding: Gamma Tocotrienol 31 mg $ 22 dollars To increase the effectiveness of C and E, as well as its Antioxidant properties of its own, Dr. Perricone also recommends Alpha lipoic acid. Is it possible to get enough of this antioxidant eating the correct the foods that contain it naturally? He recommends 100 mg daily. I read in google that it is in the food spinach, broccoli, beef, yeast, kidney, and heart. Don't think I will be adding heart to my menu. Although brewers yeast may be an option. Anyone know the Alpha Lipoic acid mgs in Brewers Yeast? http://www.iherb.com/superrich.html Would the debittered brewers yeast contain the same amcount? Brewer's yeast is hard to get down. I tried it before and never could hide the bad taste in a smoothie.     If they start adding up to too much try switching to a cheaper brand i know Family Dollar has there own vitamin brand where you can get a good selection of Mult.Viatmins and other smaller vitamins (calcium,ect) for $1.00 which isnt bad at all for viatmins there quality though i would have no information but one of my family member told me she has better hair she was takeing the Body,Hair,An Nails vitamin supplement.

    I admire your courage in trying to eat brewer's yeast with a smoothie. It does have a very distinctive taste. In his book on gerontology Roy Walford recommended taking brewer's yeast for the B vitmains and he had it in tomato juice. Still tasted terrible though. I used to put it in cooking just below the taste threshold. I honestly can't recall but from memory the B vitamins weren't significantly damaged by heat and it had to be better than not eating the brewer's yeast at all! I don't take brewer's yeast any more.     Those are artificial sources of vitamin C. Your body is equiped to metabolise it just as it is, when artificial is sometime harder to metabolise. It may be better to use various source of vitamine C,.... as vitamins and nutriments are co-dependent.
