i live in greece most of the year but my parents still live in southern california. i cannot find old fashioned steel=cut oats in greece only instant. on my last visit to orange county i tried every supermarket and could not find anything except instant. i had friends send me oatmeal but its always instant, ready in 5-7 minutes. I will be in town next week and just need some help finding the right kind of oatmeal for the zone. Please if someone could give me an exact address and the exact name of oatmeal in the orange county area it would be greatly appreciated.

What you're looking for are steel cut oats, not rolled oats or oat flakes. You may have to go to a health food store to find them. Andrea

I did an Internet search for health food stores in southern california. I don't know the area well enough to go further. I'm sure that you can do the same thing with better results because you know the area you want. Here's a link to the various Whole Foods stores in that area. I shop in Whole Foods markets in Rhode Island and Massachusetts and they have an extensive variety of foods, including grains. You can ask your family to call the one nearest to them to see whether it carries steel cut oats. I'm sure that it does--probably both packaged and in bulk: http://www.wholefoodsmarket.com/sto..._CA-s.html Here's the site for Erewhon in LA at 7660 Beverly Boulevard near The Grove, Farmer's Market, and CBS Studios. Telephone number is 213-937-0777: http://www.erewhonmarket.com Here's the link for the Wild Oats natural markets. Click on the store locator: http://www.wildoats.com/app/cda/oat...ml?pt=Home There were a lot more, but that should get you what you need. Good luck. :) Andrea
