4 1/2 oz of Water packet Tuna light
1 1/2 cups of grapes
9 cashews
would that be a 3 block meal?
Thank you :) |

I believe that would be accurate, but I don't think all grapes would hold me five hours. It may work for you, but for myself a mix of higher and lower glycemic carbs gives me more lasting powder (eg: 1/2 cup grapes, 3 cups broccoli and 1/2 slice whole rye bread.)
Moving--you may want to look at the ZonePerfect sites' fast food recommendations. Sometimes this can work. When I have moved, I've always found it easier and more convenient to graze; ie. keep some fruit and string cheese in the fridge and have a 1 block snack every couple of hours (1/2 apple and 1 string cheese is 1C1P1F) rather than doing whole meals.
Good luck! With zoning, and the move! :)

Hello,
Dr Sears has made fast food recommendations that can be found at the drsears.com site under the tools menu.

Hi Andrew-
The "hand/eye" method will work at a buffet.
First, choose a lean protein source- around here there is usually a carving station with ham or beef, maybe pork roast at the buffet- try to get as lean a piece as you can. (The cottage cheese, if available, would probably be the higher fat content variety. I'd avoid that.) Take a piece the size and thickness of your palm, about 4 oz.
Next, fill the rest of your plate with green, leafy (low GI) vegetables and fruit. Broccoli, salad, peppers, tomatoes, cucumbers, cauliflower, strawberries, blueberries, etc. It is next to impossible to put too much of the good carbs on your plate :)
Finally, be sure to add a small amount of good fat. Olive oil/vinegar dressing on your salad or a handful of almonds is a good choice.
That's all!! You will have a Zone buffet experience :)
Bread is not a good carb choice. If you have to, choose a high-density natural bread, it is a better choice than regular bread. Even so, try keep unfavorable carbs to 25% or less of total carbs at any meal.
I think that in one of Dr. Sear's books, it says to throw away 1/2 of the bun for a grilled chicken sanwich. That is what I do, anyway.
Good Luck. Ask as many questions as you need to! Everyone is here for support.
