Redmond. Wish I could find more single Zoners around here. Would love to start a food cooking coop thing. Where everyone makes one meal with enough servings for everyone inh the group and then you swap them to take home for reheating - so you only have to cook once or twice a week. I get bored with the fish/chicken and veggie salad routine but am not intrested in cooking a complicated recipe and eating it all week either. And my apartment freezer can only hold so much. Anyone? |

Welcome RM!
I'm not in WA, but I'm happy to help. My family and I have been eating in the Zone for almost 15 years. |

Thanks Sue, I will take you up on that! As I said I am just getting started, I got 2 books to start with...The Zone & A week in the zone and am going to try that first. So, I know I will be having all kinds of questions. First off, I am heading to the produce market and then the grocery store to get my ammunition...talk to you soon! Take care |

RM, good start! To get the full benefit of the Zone, I'd suggest also reading TOXIC FAT the newest Zone book. It provides the most current Zone info, from the time THE ZONE was written (15 years ago) to now. The newest info about polyphenols, fish oil concentrates, appetite hormones, the “fat trap”, how to change the expression of your genes to obtain better health, etc. are all found in TOXIC FAT. Implementing the diet to lower insulin levels is one part of the Zone. Supplementation with an ultra-refined fish oil concentrate that meets Dr. Sears’ specific criteria and supplementing with polyphenols are both as important as the diet to be successful in the Zone.
Have fun at the store and please keep us updated!
