The calculator says that I need 14 blocks (I'm 25 and weigh 140 - but very active) If I want to lose weight, should I do less blocks (for example, more like 13 or 12)? It just seems like a lot of food. Also, how do I know how many slices of turkey (lunch meat) is one ounce??? Or, how many tortilla chips is 0.5 ounces? Thanks for your advice in advance.

No you do not need to do less than that. Your activity level is certainly the reason for 14 blocks daily. Try it out for a week to see what your results are. Thanks

You can purchase a scale at most any discount store, such as walmart for about $5.00. I have one that only goes up to two pounds. It comes in very helpful when just starting out on the zone. Once you are used to weighing out portions, you may not need to use it as often. I would be lost without mine.
