Hello there, I am on the coast and just thinking about the Zone at this point, it seems a little overwhelming all this talk about how many blocks to eat at each meal of protein, carbs, etc.
I am still reading everything I can about the Zone before I just dive right in.

Hello... I'm in Portland. Just started the zone this week. Would love to connect with someone for pointers along the way and a little motivational support. :) |

Hi guys! The block method might seem very complicated in the begining, but once you see what we talk about it all falls into place. I suggest you guys pick upa copy of Dr. Sears' book "A Week in the Zone" wich is the basic most simple way to learn about the Zone! Let us know how that goes! |

Hi everyone! I am new to zoning, but happy to be here. I am in Oregon as well - travelling a bit. I'll be in the Eugene area this summer, Portland in the fall, Newport in the winter and the who knows! :) |

Hi, I live on the Oregon coast. I'm just starting the Zone, but am very excited to get into it. It's a little confusing right now and I'm not really sure where to start. I'm waiting for my copy of "A Week in the Zone," but would like to get started before that. Any tips? I'm also a vegetarian, so my protein comes in the form of shakes/powder, eggs, veggie burgers and such. |

Heather: Beeing a Vegetarian the difference I seem to notice is that for Vegetarians the Fat block consists of 3g. of fat... And for meat eaters the Fat block consists only of 1.5g. of Fat due to the fact that meat has hidden fats in it. |

I am in Portland area. I have just heard about this, from Colin Fletcher in his book, The Complete Walker IV. I don't even know what blocks are. I am not too sure I could be super strict on this diet as I have chickens and have my own eggs, and couldn't imagine a life with out them. I don't have any health problems, but find my weight creeping up after 3 years of shedding if off. I know my diet and activity level have slowly slipped, so I need a jump start back to a healthier lifestyle. I would be interested in hearing from someone who has done this. I can't seem to work the body fat calculator, nothing happens. Let me know how it is going for you.
thanks. |

Hi Maidie, I've been eating this way for over 12 years. Don't worry about your fresh eggs. They're an excellent P source, as long as you discard the yolks most of the time. My whole family eats in the Zone. It's a way of life at our house, and it's been great for all of us. Blocks are one of several systems Barry Sears designed to implement the Zone Diet. Use this address if you'd like to find out a little more about blocks: http://www.drsears.com/foodblockguide.page |
