Hi there, I was just wondering what the best exercises would be to tone up legs, tummy and arms. I have lost quite a bit of weight and just recently I seem to be a lot flabbier!!! Any tips - bearing in mind I dont have a lot of time to do more than say half an hour per day. Cheers [/color:98e11ff72c]

I have been told that it could take a year for that to happen. If you replace all the fat with enough muscle to fill the same dimensions as before, you are going to weigh a lot more than before.

A friend and I have been Zoning for about 9 months now, but I exercise and she does not. She is a little taller than me and we are built almost the same. Recently, we compared our results by how our bodies looked. Mine is smoother, firmer and has good muscle tone on both upper and lower regions. Unfortunately, hers is just a smaller version of what it used to be. As I approach my goal weight, I now understand how important exercise is to the entire process.

Hi, Congrats on your progress! As Dennis touched on, your concerns are most likely not merely an exercise/toning issue, but probably also an excess skin issue. The long term results will differ between individuals. Much depends upon the amount of excess skin, the elasticity of one's skin, and one's diet. As for strenght and toning exerecises, I highly recommend the programs in the book "Long Lean, and Strong" by Wini Linguvic. They really produce results.[/color:25e6d9e63e]

Resistance training for women actually makes women smaller and burns fat. For men resistance training will make them bigger. For legs, lunges, those will tone up your quadriceps, hamstrings, and butt, you can do them with just bodyweight alone and you will be amazed at the results. For your tummy and arms, just some women’s pushups, the stomach will get worked to help support the movement. You wont have to do a lot. There is only one product for reducing tummy fat that I know of that works, it is called TargeX. But if it is extra skin it might go away in time.

In reply to the use of TargeX, I would not recommend its use. It contains an ingredient from licorice which raises blood pressure. Licorice was known to help with ulcers many years ago but the idea was abandoned because it raised blood pressure (of course we now know that ulcers are cured with an antibiotic now anyway). Real licorice candy should not be eaten with abandon because of the BP side effects. Evidently some people using TargeX had a problem with this product because it goes into the skin and to the blood and causes the same old problem that licorice causes if used orally in excess. Joanne
