I was wondering if other vegetarians or semi- vegetarians out there have tried the Quorn Mycoprotein Products...I have been using them for about a year and find them quite good...Have tried the chicken bits and just recently the turkey...I wish my store carried the meatballs...The product has been popular in England for years..They do contain egg so they wouldn't be useful to Vegans but its an alternate to soy...there has been some bad press about it but I have not had any allergies or stomach problems comsuming it..A serving size of 90 grams of the Turkey Roast has Total Fat..1.5 grams...Total Carb minus Fiber 3 grams(with fiber it would be 9 grams carb)...and 14 Grams Protein.......I beleive the fat and carb count is lower in the Chicken flavor....Have a nice Day!..TigerLilly :P [/b]

I see your post has been out there for a while, but I just joined. You might read this...

Once I learned more about quorn, I decided it wasn't for me!

Thank you for your comment on the Quorn products but like I said I have been eating them for 4 years and have not had a problem...I eat Quorn about once a week as part of my diet...I suppose if you were to eat it everyday or have it as your only protein source then it could become a problem...there will always be people who are allergic to certain ingredients and foods and we all have to make up are minds about what we consume...Thank you for your concern and post..Carol :)

I've been eating Quorn for several years also and have never had a reaction. I love the taste and texture of the products. I had to cut back on the soy due to some problems I had with it and the quorn filled the void nicely. I'm sure there are always some people who will react to certain foods...look how many people are allergic to peanuts. It was interesting reading the article though. Thanks for the heads up.
