Dr Sears position on Nitric Oxide products

    I have been taking a supplement called NO2 for the past month or so with fabulous results. It is supposed to increase nitric oxide levels. Dr Sears' new zone shakes contain arginine for the sole purpose of raising nitric oxide levels. he mentions it at the end of his first book i believe. i have noticeably more energy taking the stuff but want to make sure i'm not doing any harm. does anyone know what dr sears' opinion of products of this type is? thanks, chris

    Hey Chris-- What is the active ingredient in the product you are taking? Tetrahydrobiopterin (BH[size=9:8e9d893035]4[/size:8e9d893035])?

    Arginine Alpha-Ketoglutarate (A-AKG) Arginine-Ketoisocaproate 3000mg ...i think these are supposedly more bio-available (i think i'm using that term properly) forms of arginine that just the plain amino acid. if you look at the zone bars and shakes, the both have added arginine. btw.......those new raspberry bars are ridiculously delicious!

    If you take substances in order tu increase NO synthesis you have to take antioxidants. It's very important. NO reacts easily with superoxide anion in order to create peroxynitrite; a very dangerous oxidant. I think you should take vitamin E and most important, acetylcisteyne and vitamin C in order to increase your glutahione pool....
