Margaret[/quote:2d98a404ff] It's just a matter of figuring it out. The chicken and cheese is about 3 oz protein (~ 3 blocks). The amount of lettuce, tomato, etc. is probably about a scarce 1/2 block of carbs. With the croutons, you might have about 1 block of unfavorable carbs. So you would be about 1-1/2 blocks short on favorable carbs. Bring along an apple or an orange, if you can - for 2 blocks. Fat is up to you. Ask for Vinnegerette dressing or Lite Italian, and you'll get your Fat in the oil. Just be careful how much you add.

I have only tried them once, and it wasn't satisfying on its own, I agree with the apple or orange advice. I found the chicken/cheese to be extremely salty, though. You may want to ask them not to salt the meat before cooking, or cook with no added salt if they can. I am not a McD's fan, so haven't gone back. I have enjoyed the Wendy's ones, esp. the Taco salad (I don't eat the chips.) Ronica

Speaking of McDonalds, I was reading my local paper and it was talking about how McDonalds in Canada are planning to offer a greater range of salads, a "healthy" happy meal for adults, and even the possibility of fruits and veggies for kidsmeals. WIll be interesting to see how Zoneful these "healthy" alternatives become. I imagine if this occurs in Canada, that the same will be true in the States. As a sidenote, the article also mentions the popular [i:22a3bb3cde][b:22a3bb3cde]Atkins[/b:22a3bb3cde][/i:22a3bb3cde] diet... and McDonalds plans to introduce a "Protein Platter". Is anyone else but mefrustrated how often the Zone is ignored and Atkins takes the limelight? [b:22a3bb3cde]RBrownson[/b:22a3bb3cde], if you like the Wendy's Taco salad, I have an easy to make alternative that comes out tasting quite similar. Only thing is you have to do that at home, which probably defeats the whole eating out plan eh? Feel free to add another block for a 4 block meal, but since I consume 3 block meals... 5 cups romaine (1/2 C) 1/4 C black beans (1 C) 1/2 C salsa (1/2 C) 2 oz sliced bocconcini cheese (3 P) 1/4 C unsalted soy nuts (1 P) 3 tbsp sliced Avocado (3 F) Dessert: 1 block of fruit (your choice!) directions? mix those all together! I like to heat the beans and salsa together first and then add them (pseudo chili!) Enjoy! -Susan :)

well... wow. :D If the biggest criticism the zone gets is being "too complicated", what does changing a diet's philosophy count as? Dr. Sears becomes more my hero with each passing day. Thanks for directing my attention!
