    Hello,

I just started the zone 2 days ago and I am not used to eating all this food. I'm stuffed after every meal and can't even think of eating a snack. I'm 5'6 and 132 pounds. I'm on 11 blocks.

    Here is my food journal
Meal: 1 whole egg, 2 egg whites, 1 oz low-fat cheese, 1 cup broccoli, 1/4 cup chickpeas, 1/4 cup black beans, 1/8 cup hummus(to make up for 1/2 broccoli)
Meal: 4.5 oz sliced ham, 1/2 cup blueberries, 1/2 apple, 1/4 cup hummus, 3 tsp light mayo
snack: 1 oz chicken, 1 cup green beans, 1/2 tsp almond butter
Meal: 3 oz canned tuna, 2 cups celery, 1/4 cup chick peas, 1/4 cup black beans, 3 tsp light mayo

I've been doing a lot of black beans and chick peas because I can not fathom to eat 2 green peppers and 4 cups of mushrooms and 2 cups of kale. Seems like so much food to me. I'm righting this and I know I have to eat a snack soon, anymore food and I'd prob barf.

I did yoga in the am and 40 minutes of cardio in the evening.

I'm trying to stick with more vegetables to lose weight, but seems daunting.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

    Hi Erin,

Many people feel like you at first. The good news, you'll get use to eating more and it will become the norm for you. In the meantime, there are ways to gain control of meal size. Try a smoothie for breakfast wit berries for carbohydrate. BErries give teh best insulin control of all fruits. An easy one is 1 1/2 cups frozen blueberries, 3 scoops Zone protein powder and 2 teaspoons olive oil, add a splash of water or milk of you need for blending. Zap it in a blender or use a hand held immersion blender and you have a perfectly balanced 3 block meal in a glass. I eat a smoothie for breakfast almost every day. A snack can be as easy as 1/2 cup plain yogurt with 1 teaspoon peanut butter stirred in. Try using unsweetened tomato sauce (pasta sauce) and salsa to cut down on the size of meals. Try a bowl of chili. There are lots of Zone recipes to give you ideas.

Erin, you can also try drinking a cup of milk, this is equal to a block of protein and carb. Sometimes it is easier to drink a glass of milk than it is to find the room for more food.
