I'm a little confused: Zone bars have much for carbs and calories than a fiber one bar yet I am told they are not Zone friendly because they have too many carbs! Sincerely, Confused, feedback? |

I am not sure who stated that they ave too many carbs. However it is NET carbs. Total carbs minus the Fiber. BUT, the carbs in the Dr. Sears ZONE bars are desoigned to release slowly so as not to spike insulin. Th eonly ones, I beleive designed to do so. Plus there is the protein that teh Fiber one bars do not have. Plus the fiber One bars carbs are mostly unfavorable. So, even disregarding the number of NET carbs, that poster might have been incorrect, they are still NOT a good choice. |

Maureen. It is about balance... Example: You may have seen the term 1-2-3 used in the forums and on our site. So lets look at the Zone Bar. Fat 8gm, Protien 16gm and Carbs 24gm ... Always start with Fat 1 x 8gm = 8gm ... 2 x 8 = Protien 16gm ... 3 x 8 = carbs 24gm . 1-2-3 ! Your better off finding your fiber in fruits and veg.

Maureen, If you compare the nutrition label, you will see that the amount of carb is about the same (net carbs, like John said) as a zone bar. But, with regard to the amount of protein in the bar, you are not eating a balanced snack. You did state that you are adding greek yogurt, but don't forget that greek yogurt also has carb in it. Eating the greek yogurt and the bar is going to put you over the top for total carbs, not to mention that the quality of carb is lacking.
