I started the zone in early January.
    Weight was 290.
I am down to 218 now by sticking to the program and excercising.

Is this ok to lose this much

72 lbs divided by 20 weeks = about 3.5 lbs per week?
I would say its not excessive. Really good, but probably not excessive.
    .
Of course you probably lost more weight initially = which is expected,
and probably more consistent but less weight per week in the later part of the 5 months. .
So, you might be closer to the norm of 2 lbs per week at this point.

Congrtulations, Phil! Calculate your current block needs and track your LBM and body fat with the Body Fat calculator on this site (find it in the Tools tab). Your LBM should either remain the same or increase. If LBM decreases it means you're not eating enough protein to meet your needs, in which case you'd add one or more balanced blocks of P, C and F each day.
