Hello everyone, I have been reading the forum for a long time and I want to thank everyone for all the tips, recipes and words of encouragement. I have been following the main principles of the Zone diet for about three months now. I am a 25 year old man, I used to weigh 310 pounds. Now I am down to 260 and already feeling better and ready to continue until I reach my goal. One big problem that I m facing though has to do with the stretch marks. At the beginning of my weight loss I had stretch marks on the side of my abdomen. Even though I am exercising and drinking plenty of water they haven't started to fade away yet. Now I m afraid that I will be left with permanent scars when I m down to my target weight. Did anyone face a similar problem and have any good advice on how to get rid of them, or at least decrease the scarring at the end? I hope i m posting this in the correct place. Thank you in advance! :D |

I don't think it's possible to get rid of stretch marks, other than plastic surgery to remove the excess skin where they appear. Stretch marks usually fade over time, so they may become less noticeable in the future. congrats on your progress , adn keep up the good job! |

I agree with Sue, but being only 25 your skin has more "bounce back" than mine does 11 years post baby. Keep your skin moisturized, a good shea butter can help with the newer marks. |
