Happy New Year Zoners! Hope everyone survived the holidays. Sure went by quickly! Now time to get back in the Zone! Anyone want to post your personal goals or resolutions? I am not going to post another resolution to lose weight. Instead, I am just going to continue to focus on living a healthy lifestyle. I had good results last year, I was able to raise my HRA score at work (that is a health risk assessment score). Last year, I identified that one of my main struggles was that my activity level was lacking, and that I really needed to exercise more. So, I started by purchasing a pedometer (another one, since I keep losing it). During the winter months, I worked on exercising at least 3 times per day by using Leslie Sansone DVDs at home. Then, when the weather got nicer, I got out on my bike. I rode almost 1000 miles total over the summer. I have fallen off a bit lately, but doing some workouts at our school (equipment use free to the community). So, gotta get back on track with this! So what are everyone else's resolutions looking like? |

In later November and December, I slacked off a bit in my workouts. Stayed active winter hiking and even some biking this past weekend. But my heavy lifting I kinda slacked off going to the Y. Two to three good 30 minute heavy lifting per week will increase strength. And one good 30 minute heavy lifting work-out per week will maintain. So at least I maintained all of my strength gains since I started working out just over one year ago last August. I do NOT do resolutions; however, my goal is to get back to two 30 minute (Body and free) weight work-outs per week and continue moving an hour at least twice per week, and one day of 30 minute interval. (per MDA). . However, on the flip-side, though I NEVER liked cruciferous vegetables (Broccoli & Cauliflower) - I had incorporated them more later part of 2011. And, have found and experimented with cauliflower recipes, like potato less mashed potatoes and the pizza crust. I have the potato-less mashed potato recipe down and consistent, with no taste or hint of cauliflower at all! I'll post it. |
