Hi!
I am new of the forum.
I have to loose at least 20 Kg and I have started the Zone 5 days ago.
I have 11 blocks per day (2 for breakfast, 1 at 11 am, 3 for lunch, 1 for snack at 17.30, 3 for dinner and 1 for the 11pm snack)
The only difficulty I have is that I often have my lunch at the restaurant / snack bar and it is difficult to weigh the vegetables (carb.) there.
Has anyone suggestions of what to do????
I have read on your post that many of you have lost many Kg ....what is the weight loss per month?? (approx)
Thanks for your help....

Hi Giorgia,
In the Zone one can expect to lose about 1 to 1 1/2 LB per week. This would be about 1/2 to 2/3 Kg per week. It is purely fat loss. Some individuals have bigger losses during their first several weeks in the Zone. This is due to fat loss plus the loss of fluid they have retained due to their previous way of eating.
It's actually fairly simple to eat in the Zone at a restaurant. The protein portion ( fish ad chicken are always good choices) should be about the size and thickness of the palm of your hand. Pass on the bread, pasta, potatoes, and dessert, and ask for extra servings of the veggies for yor carbs. No need to measure. Just fill up on veggies. Don't forget to add some monounsaturated fat, also. I've found olive oil is usually the easist way to add fat to my meals in a restaurant.

Hi Giorgia,
You're welcome , and thank you for the compliment! :D
Yes that rate of weight loss per week is what can be expected in the Zone all time. When one begins the Zone Diet they may experience a greater loss for the first couple weeks, but it's usually due to the loss of retained fluid caused by their previous way of eating. If your weight goes too low (lose too much fat) you simply add more monounsaturated fat to your meals. The Zone's a very flexible life-long lifestyle.
I lost the 100 lb over about two years time. 100lb is about 45.5 Kg.
Yes, I've eaten bars. I've tried about 7 or 8 different brands (even two brands of Italian bars when I vacationed in Italy two months ago!). The only one I've found that kept me in the Zone are OmegaZone bars. I'm very sensitive to carbs. Other Zoners have had good luck with several brands of bars.
Best wishes with you Zoning! |
