My dear friends, I have one question for you. Last 10/9 I started the Zone and I have lost 7Kg the first month. The following two weeks I have lost 1,5 Kg and then my weight has stopped for one whole week. The only difference is that I have introduced (after the first month) 1 meal per week of unvafourable carb (1 borderless pizza or 60g pasta) always combined with fat and protein Do you think this stop is physiologic or not????? Thanks for your help.

Do you really need some one else to answer you? [i:422b74d2c5]Cessare con la pizza![/i:422b74d2c5] You say you lost 7,5 kg in a month, (that's more than 16 pounds, an impressive average of 4 lbs. per week). Now you add one serving of pizza or pasta per week and weight loss stops completely...? Plateaus are normal, but ask yourself if you've got more body fat to lose. If so, the suggestion is to add a fat block and remove a carbohydrate block from your daily intake, and choose favorable carbs. More olive oil and salads, less capellini. This is cruel advice to someone in Italy, but you should deny yourself those very unfavorable carbs (pizza and pasta) until you've reached your goal of Lean Body Mass percentage. Try eating no starches for one week, then tell us how much you lost.

[quote:1fe2c31447="GIORGIA"]can't anyboby answer me?????[/quote:1fe2c31447] Giorgia, You have been losing a lot of weight quickly for the Zone. Are you sure you have been correctly balancing meals? I ask this because when I see that you have lost 10 Kg (22 lb) in 6 weeks is is a bit unusual for the Zone. Without more details from you I can only speculate, but since you've been losing at this rate, one possibility is that you haven't been eating enough and your body could have now started to slow its metabolism thinking it is starving. This could cause no wt loss in the last week, but this is only one possible scenario. There could also be many other things going on. If you would like to post more specific info we would be better able to help you (height, weight, LBM, and body fat %, type of aerobic and/or strenght training including number of hours of each per week, and a sample day of meals and snacks with specific foods and amounts) Sue

Georgia, Are you sure you are following the zone properly? That seems like an awful lot of wieght to lose, but if you have alot, then it could come off fast in the beginning. Also, the more wieght you lose, the slower it will come off, so that could explain some of the slow down. Pizza is not in the zone. It has too many carbs and fat and hardly any protein (usually). Make sure you get the right amount of protein and fat at each meal. I think this will help you from slowing down on the weight loss. Good luck. Andrea
