Cindy, you could do a search on www.drsears.com, and if you don't find anything, this would be an excellent question to post. |

I have food sensitivities to wheat, gluten, soy, fructose, and MSG and looking for some of the same answers. The packaged gluten-free foods available are often very carb and calorie dense and some contain soy or dairy. |

Me too! plus no eggs or dairy or nightshade plants (trying to alleviate CFS/FMS symptoms). I was hoping I may be able to add back soy but after 3 days my sinuses are already filling up with mucous which I really resent as I had been free of this for the first time in my life when I eliminated all gluten, legumes, dairy, etc. BUT I think the Zone diet has soooo much potential for a healthy diet - I think I will try Hemp protein powder & make my own Oat milk - Rice milk is out due to it's high arsenic levels (when consumed too exclusively), I'll let you know how I go, Pru |

You're gonna have to eat some protein...the hempseeds are a good idea! You can get hemp protein powder...and also, I think eggwhites and eggwhite protein powder are fantastic, but I'm not sure if you can eat this. |

Hi again, Well quite a few months have gone by since I last posted saying that I was "sensitive" to gluten, soy, nightshades. Just wanted to let you know that I was diagnosed shortly thereafter as having Fibromyalgia. And then my cluey doctor put me on a Gut Detox diet plus cleansing supplements. After 2 weeks I started reintroducing some of those formerly difficult foods. I was soooo pleased to find that my body was able to accept them easily. I continued to increase them & now, three months later, I can definitely say that I am able to digest Soy 95% of the time. And all the nightshades & the small amounts of gluten that I eat. I have just now got The Soy Zone book & am really looking forward to getting into that whole regimen. I really was not comfortable with having to source my protein from animals (after 20 years of being lacto/ova vegetarian) so this is a real relief to me!:) Just wish that algae oil was not soooo expensive!!!:( Pru |

Hi Pru, I'm glad you're doing better with all those foods! Sorry to hear about your fibromyagia dx. You might want to do a searech on Dr.Sears.com about it. Just a couple days ago I found a several different articles with fibromyalgia info there, for a friend. There are some Q&A's in the "Ask Dr Sears" section on that site, where Barry Sears addresses how and why to use fish oil for relieving the pain and symptoms of fibromyalgia. I realize you're a lacto-ovo veggie, but just wanted to let you know that ultra-refined fish oil can help. I recall reading something (on DrSears.com when I did that search) about a study being done or that was done. I'm not sure of the details, but I think it specifically related to the muscles. To find it, just do a search there for fibromyalgia, and read all the hits, even those with titles that don't appear to have anything to do with it. I think, if I'm remembering correctly, that there's also info in "The Omega RX Zone" about individual experiences with certain amounts of high dose fish oil for fibromyalgia. Many of my meals are veggie (I used to be veggie, too). It's really very easy to do a vegetarian Zone, even easier for a lacto/ovo. Have fun with it! |

don't you need a carb? ...and to Pru: why does rice milk have arsenic in it? rice is heavily consumed all over the world.... |

I'm a newbie also . . .I have the exact same sensitivities and they have limited what I can eat. I do eat eggs, but I notice when I eat cottage cheese it will not agree with me so I avoid milk, etc. Hope to find some answers in this forum. Thanks. |
