I have been researching about the Zone and it sounds like a very sensible plan, but a little confusing at this point. I ordered a book, but would like to get started before it gets here. I just have a few questions:

    (1) I saw the 7 day meal plan, but it does not include calorie/carb/protein counts. How do I know how many calories and such I am consuming? According to the calculator I am supposed to eat 77 grams of protein a day.

    (2) Most of my protein comes from veggie burgers (Morningstar is my favorite), but I would like to expand that. Any suggestions for an affordable Zone friendly protein powder?

I'm sure I could think of a million more questions, but that is it for now. Thanks!

    Hello Heather!

If the calculator said you are supposed to be having 77g. protein a day, you should be having 3/3block meals and 2/1block snacks (That's the same results I got)
Don't worry, once you recieve the book it will all make sense.

Blocks are divided into three parts. Protein, Carbs and Fat.
I can see you're a vegetarian so basically they're divided this way:
One block should contain 3g.of Fat, 7g.of Protein and 9g. of Favorable Carbs.

The Zone protein Powder gives you 7g.of Protein per scoop making it easy for you to measure per meal.

    :-D
