My husband invented this last night, and it's surprisingly delicious! (I was skeptical!) It does taste like a peanut butter and jelly sandwich--liquified! Someone may have already invented it, but I'm giving him credit. Peanut Butter and Jelly Smoothie (1C,1P,1F) 1 cup strawberries, partially thawed if frozen (I do about 45 seconds in the micro) 1C 1/2 scoop vanilla soy protein isolate powder 1P 1 t. natural peanut butter (1F) Splenda (or stevia if you like) to taste (about 1T for him) Place in your food processor or blender and blend until smooth. 1 Block Snack. Ronica Skarphol Brownson (still a kid at heart!)

You may have to add a little water if thick--sorry, forgot to add that part! RSB

Hi Ronica! Good to see you back! No problem with the error, Ronica...I'm just glad to see that I'm not the only one doing silly things like that occasionally  . Maybe others have but I, personally, hadn't tried the peanut butter smoothie yet...thanks for the update! I need to get some vanilla protein powder so I can try this one soon! :-) Donna.

Hi Donna! Yeah, busy weekend. Oktoberfest at the Essen Haus, you know! ;) Just in case you get near the U, Whole Foods has their 365 Brand of Vanilla Protein powder (soy isolate) for $10.99 a can. It's the same size as most other brands of $17 and up. They had it on "sale" a while ago, and I noticed they have now officially changed the price. Yippee! I would also recommend their 365 natural peanut butter. It's IMO a lot more flavorful, because they do add salt. (To me, salt-free peanut butter tastes like mushy, wet dirt. :P) It's also cheaper than most, at $1.99 a jar. That's why I was there, because we keep running out! I also buy the French sheep's milk feta, as Jeff has found little trouble digesting it (big deal for him who hasn't been able to eat cheese in 11 years), and often stop for a treat at the olive bar. My current favorite is the green Cerignola (sp?) olive because it strangely has a chocolate flavor. Weird, but delicious! It's a great, but expensive, place, so it helps to know the items where you actually do save from a "normal" grocery store. I guess I should put this on the pals board, but OH well! Glad to be back--busy weekend. Essen Haus had Oktoberfest you know! (As members of the Stein Club, we felt we must attend!) I did drink too many carb-loaded beers, but had some fish and cheese, so at least I stayed away from the pretzels. A few good polkas burned off a calorie or two! Oh well, I am back on the wagon! :) So, when should we get together? :D Ronica

Hi, I was looking at your post. Great tips. I noticed that Jeff could not eat cheese. He may just not like cheese, but if he does: it sounds like he is lactose intolerant and could simply take a lactase supplement (eg Lactaid). This probably seems obvious, but I figured mentioning it couldn't hurt.
