Ok. I've looked around here, because there's a slip that comes with my liquid OmegaRx that says that it needs to be put in a ceramic cup. I picked liquid by the way, not capsules, because if I end up in a really bad accident, they would have to fed it to me via an IV or whatever the thingy is. Anyway. I've looked around here, but been dubious because what I *think* might be ceramic, is painted and so forth, could that affect the quality of the fish oil too? I went to two stores looking for a ceramic container to put the OmegaRx bottle in. And I can't find anything thus far. How the heck do I find something suitable? How do I make sure it's ceramic? What if it's something that's all painted up, or has a glossy surface, or whatever? I spent way too much on my bottles to want to ruin them! tips, suggestions, ideas, welcome ... as always! Alexy |

The container can be any thing that is frezer safe and not plastic. The oil can damage the lining of your frig. So it is more about protecting the oil drippings and the drips gettting on the liner of the freezer/Frig.

Or ... I have a coffee can, the kind that you buy at the store that has coffee grounds in it ... it looks like it's made of some kind of metal ... with a plastic top ... not sure which metal.

Better yet, are the metal water "bottles". They are food grade and great if you plan on emptying the contents into a different container than the original. However, if you are keeping the oil in its original container, and putting that in an open second container, than a metal coffee can will work. Since the oil will not be touching the secondary container. |

Alexy; Hence I think your misunderstanding of the slip in the package and Tech's answer. Ceramic would work, too, but again if its for use as the secondary container. The secondary container to contain any drips of oil after using, so those drips do not leak into your refrig/freezer. And it appears that you might have misunderstood the ceramic suggestion as a primary container and not a secondary container. |

Hi John, Ceramic, metal, will work, so I'll look for a metal secondary container ... I acdtually misunderstood the slip to say that the fish oil could be damaged by the plastic parts of the freezer, not the other way around. LOL. I think I'd rather keep the fish oil in the original container though, I'm a bit nervous of the metal affecting the fish oil's effectiveness somehow ... ALEXY |

Sarah, I'll give this a try. Picture this. Every time you use your liquid laundry detergent it keeps dripping down the bottle form the cap area and getting all over the shelf where you store it. To remedy this you place it in a bowl to prevent the drips from continually getting all over the shelf. Same with the liquid fish oil. The fish oil remains in teh bottle in which you received it. You're not supposed to pour the contents of the Omega Rx bottle into a different container. All it means is drips of fish oil (that might get on the outside you fish oil bottle after pouring it into a spoon) can damage plastic. To prevent this from happening, they suggest putting the entire omega Rx bottle into a ceramic/glass/metal container so you have a barrier between the bottle itself and your freezer. Simply put the entire glass bottle with the fish oil still in it into a large coffee cup, or even stand it up in a glass baking dish, or any other similar receptacle. Then place the cup, or baking dish, with the Omega Rx bottle in it, into you freezer shelf, instead of putting the actual Omega Rx bottle itself in direct contact with any of the interior parts of your freezer. If there are any drips on the bottle, the cup or baking dish (or whatever else you use) will catch and contain the drips from the bottle, thus preventing damage to your freezer. |

Hi Sue, I understand now ... I appreciate your effort in explaining. I'll use the coffee can to put the OmegaRx bottle in from now on. The plastic lid on the coffee can shouldn't be a problem then it sounds like ... and it's sounding like it doesn't matter what kind of metal the coffee can is made of, its ok, so, I'll go ahead ... Thanks! aalexy |

back when I used the liquid form , I just put the bottle right into a ceramic coffee mug and put it on the shelf in the freezer . I once had 6 mugs with 6 bottles of fish oil all lined up on the shelf! |

It was a few years ago when I had stocked up on OmegaRx. I ended up switching to capsules because it was easier to deal with when traveling, and I personally can swallow the capsules better than the liquid--I literally feel like I am gagging when I swallow the liquid. LOL |
