Hi All, Does anyone know of a naturopath doctor or similar in the Salt Lake City area? My friend's daughter has 95% kidney failure, but she can't get a transplant until she gets her blood pressure down. The allopathic drugs aren't doing the trick. I know the power nutrition and anti-inflammatory diet, so I'd really like to refer her to someone in her local area that could implement an anti-inflammatory diet for someone with 95% kidney failure. The idea is to get her healthy enough to get the transplant so she can live a normal life going forward. Any help would be appreciated. TIA... |

I don't know anyone in that area at all. Is she diet-restricted? If you are looking at the Zone for her, I don't know if she would be able to do all of it, but maybe someone at Zone Labs can help you out with some information. She probably has to be careful with her potassium intake, protein, as well as other things.

Hi CBC, Yes, she's dietary restricted. Having said that, I know that the medical community can play fast and loose with these restrictions. For example, can someone who eats 7g of protein at a time take in more protein in a day than someone who tries to eat protein at a 28g a meal clip? I don't know, but I'd like to have a conversation with a naturopath that can answer those kinds of questions with research. High blood pressure is the only thing between her and a transplant, I think diet is really her only chance to lower that blood pressure. Due to the seriousness of her condition, though, she needs a serious professional to guide her through this process - and that isn't me. |
