doctor told me to take 9 ibuprofens a day...I was wondering if there was a healthier way to reduce inflammation..yes I take fish oil. am I digesting it? I take a bromelain/papaya tab with it. what about taking more bromelain for inflammation.. help? I know that inflammation causes bad eicosanoids..I'm doing the zone diet but I'm not perfect.

Good Morning Infrared.... I can relate to you on this one as I had a miserable time all of last year and into this early spring with PF in my left heel and ankle. It is now TOTALLY GONE and I take no specific meds for it. I think that the dissapearance of this ailment was brought about by several things...one of which you'll laugh at but I've turned two other people on to it and it works. A) My overall health is much better thanks to the Zone. B) Having lost almost 90 pounds had made a major difference in any structural aches and pains. C) AND PERHAPS MOST IMPORTANTLY.....someone suggested to me that I buy a pair of MERRELL sneakers because they had received remarkable releif from their PF by wearing them. I was so miserable that I tried it. Within 2 weeks I noticed an incredibly positive diference. I have told 2 other people about this and it worked for them. It seems to be something to do with the arch support and heel structure / padding of their shoes. I now wear nothing but Merrell shoes / sneakers / clogs, unless I'm outside working and need my boots. My wife has arthritis (bad) in her ankles and these shoes seem to have made a world of difference for her as well. Jim

Hi, I suffered from the same ailment a long time ago and I ended up having orthotics made for me by my foot doctor, but I've since hand them made by my chiropractor. They are an actual mold to your foot and you can put them in any shoe and I don't suffer from it anymore. - Hope you find relief. Lois in Boxborough, MA

thanks so much for the response. It's so great of people to share their hard earned experience. I'm still open for more. Wonder if anyone knows how to control inflammation (very serious) without ibuprofen.

Make sure you are taking a pharmaceutical grade oil. It's purpose is to eliminate inflammation, and it works if you take the appropriate amount to meet your needs. I know several people with severe pain from arthritis who have gone off all anti-inflammatory drugs with PGFO and the Zone diet (and they were on RX meds...Celebrex, and Vioxx). My cousin was supposed to have a knee replacement about 6 yrs ago. She had such a turn around with the diet alone that she didn' t have to do the replacement. About 2 yrs ago she began taking PGFO doesn't need Celebrex any more. Sue
