I am starting a new teaching job tomorrow and I just got an email that there will be a welcome breakfast for the staff. The school is providing the main dish and they are asking the staff members to contribute a "breakfast goodie". What would be a good, Zone-y thing to bring?

I was thinking maybe Greek yogurt with some berries and almonds for making parfaits, but then I also have to buy spoons and bowls, plus I try to only eat organic, so that would get very expensive. I guess I could do fruit and cheese, but I think that the Zone-y cheeses w/ enough protein are not especially crowd pleasing (i.e. no brie or soft cheeses).

Basically, I want to bring something that is fairly easy to prepare, not too expensive, and will allow me to stay in the Zone while still being yummy and pleasing to my new co-workers!! I know it sounds like a lot to ask, but I have high hopes! :)

How about purchasing a pkg/bunch of small 6oz or so plastic cups with lids for a couple of bucks,
and making a batch or two of smoothies, like Sue's Brownie Batch Batter smoothie or similar.
Pour into the the cups and place the lids on.
If you make your first batch and feel the consistency is too thick to drink without a spoon,
then just add a touch more liquid and thin a bit before pouring out into the cups.
Your protein source, then, would be relatively inexpensive, using a scoop or two of protein powder per batch.
