I know this has been covered alot, but there are always new readers and old readers developing new favorites.

I have noticed that 2 string chees sticks and one apple, and a couple nuts, are a great, satisfying, easy and long-lasting snack for me.

I also LOVE Greek yogurt, the extra carb blocks made up of blueberries, and slivered almonds added. Add cinnamon and vanilla extract, and sometimes a little honey. This is what my mouth is now interpreting as a 'sweet treat'.

I do very well with milk products.

Of course, love a big salad made up of packaged spring baby lettuce mix with all kinds of raw vegies, maybe some cottage cheese thrown in, or sardines, or salmon or chicken. And/or cheese. You get to chew ALOT with that meal and are filled at the end of it and it is just so good.

I love hummus, but tend to eat too much of it at a time.

One way to enjoy hummus without eating too much of it is to spread it onto some deli meat slices, then roll them up.

So, measure out 1/4 cup of hummus, and then count out enough slices of deli meat for a block of protein (varies from brand to brand). Usually, the hummus will have enough fat, so no need to add any extra.

I also enjoy my blueberries over cottage cheese, with slivered almonds sprinkled on top.

1/4 cup cottage cheese, top it with 1/2 cup frozen blueberries, then sprinkle the almonds. I put this in my lunch bag, and enjoy it for a snack in the afternoon, after the blueberries have thawed.

Cottage cheese w/ applesauce on top sprinkled with cinnamon, cheese stick with half an apple or orange, hard boiled egg with whatever berries I have on hand. I do occasionally like a 4 oz glass of wine with some cheese - It tends to be my Saturday night treat. I usually either have almonds or black olives on hand to cover the fat.

My favorite "quick" meal is called Spicy chicken under the recipes. Chicken & olive oil with black beans, salsa and spinach. No chopping - just cook chicken, toss the rest in and cook until the baby spinach is wilted. Quick, easy and very tasty.
