I take apples - granny smith is the best, clean, cut into half seeded and every half into 3 big slices(i don't peel skin). Add cranberries approximately 2  tablespoons or any red berries for color, but don't put too much frozen cranberries, it will be too sour. Add a little agave syrup mix and bake in oven 350-400 for about 40 min. I check if its soft and mix few times. My kitchen is already smells of apple pie. When its ready I add nuts and its a great dessert presentation for Zoners -colorfull and delicious.
3 slices = 1 block of carbohydrate, fat is there already, cranberries I don't count.
You can add cinnamon or allspice or whatever you like.

One more tip... When I work 12 hours I cook whole apple in microwave till its soft. Its very delicious. At least I have some warm meal and I balance it with some protein -egg or string cheese or any piece of meat and few nuts.

    thanks for sharing that, Janetta!

Cranberries are unfavorable carb, but if you are only using a few, probably very little impact.

I have also worked with baked apples, it is one of my favorite treats when camping.  I will use a slicer/corer, then wrap the entire apple in aluminum foil and bake in the coals of the campfire.  Sometimes I add a bit of butter and cinnamon, but I generally don't add any additional sweeteners.  I bet some nuts would go well in there, too!
