Hello everyone I've been trying to get more vegies into my day and have been making soup lately to help this process. I'm hoping someone could take a look at this combination for me. . . 1/2 cup onion 1 glove garlic 1 cup leeks 1 cups celery 2 cups zucchini 1 carrot 1 chicken stock (for flavour) It comes to about 4 blocks but I get about 3-4 big bowls of soup out of it which is incredibly filling and delicious and I often have this as part of dinner. The zucchini is a great 'thickener'. Not sure what a block of stock would be?? So this being the case - I'd just count a bowl as 1 block? Does that look about right? Thank you for any advice! Rachel

1/2 cup onion(1/2C) 1 clove garlic (no count)1 cup leeks(1C) 1 cups celery(1//2C) 2 cups zucchini(1C) 1 carrot(1C) 1 chicken stock (1C,1P,1F) = 5C,1P,1F is what your soup looks like total. If you eat a 3 block meal it would be 3C,3P,3F, so you would need to eliminate 2C, and add 2P,2F.

You can find the food block guide here http://www.drsears.com/ArticlePrevi...fault.aspx

I trust that the block measurements are correct from techie, except that sometimes the chicken stock varies, depending on what you are using.  I would suggest dividing it up into portions that are workable for you.  If you want to use it as a snack, then divide it up into 4-5 equal portions, then you have one complete block of carb.  You would need to add protein and fat for a whole zone block.  So, in terms of what you said, then I think you would be correct that each bowl serving is 1 block of carb.

Thank you Tech Support - I couldn't possibly eat all of it in one go. The blocks are clear, it was just the stock I wasn't clear about.

Thanks Cran - The stock I have if mixed with 250ml water comes to
    P - 0.3g
    C - 0.9g
    F - 0.1g
and I usually have at least 2 or more cups of water. So I really wasn't sure how to count this (if at all) when divided into 4 portions or more.

I was looking at it as a snack block or part of a meal so wanted to make sure I was on track.
    Thanks again!

It appears as if the stock is really more of a "flavoring", and it doesn't appear to be contributing any significant form of P/C/F.  So, if you are getting 4 servings out of it, I would count each serving as 1 block of carb.
