I did a very difficult workout yesterday and felt a familiar light-headed spaciness (I only had zone snack before and during workout--the spaciness was just from "over-reaching." Later in day, I took BCAA supplements and quickly felt a reduction in cortisol levels (I assume--I just felt much more grounded), and this morning woke up feeling very low-stress (when I might have expected to wake up feeling a bit spent based on level of effort). Just wondering if there's any way to think about why BCAA's have such a huge benefit in the context of the The Zone. I know there's been some research saying the BCAA supplement has to have a certain ratio of amino acids (which the supplement I took had)--how does that sort of thing fit into the zone concept? |
