I am female and work out as follows:

Daily: 1/2 hour cardio on bike and then 1/2-1 hour sprints on bike.

4-5 times/week: weight train: crunches, waist/back, arms, dead-lifts, and smith machine squats for legs and but.

I eat a Zone diet and currently am down to a size 2 or even 0 (depending on where you shop) and am 5'8" tall.

I find that in order to shape and stay trim in my lower body, I loose too much in my upper body and face.

Are there any suggestions exercise or even diet wise that can help? I am really happy with my lower body results but not in my upper body. I don't want to loose my new thin hips just to balance out my upper body, but at the same time, I want to look more healthy (and less boney) in my upper body. Am I looking for a miracle?

    Help!

    Hi maureen,

As i understand it, essentially people are kind of stuck with the body type they have in regard to where they tand to gain and lose fat.

You can use the body fat calculator on this site to check to make sure you are not too low in body fat (http://www.zonediet.com/Tools/Calcu...ult.aspx). The ideal for the average female is around 20%. If you're below 18%, double or triple the number of fat blocks you add to meals until you gain back to at least 18%. At that point you'd go back to the usual amount of fat in your meal. In one of his books (I think it's in MASTERING THE ZONE), Barry Sears explains how to use dietary fat in this manner to maintain ideal body fat.
