My dad and I are training for our first marathon after doing a couple half-marathons. Both of have been zoning for the past 3/4 months. I've read about the elite athletes and other people's comments about zoning during marathon training.
My questions are:
Should I up my fish oil intake? (currently taking 4 per day of Dr. Sears)
Should we increase our fat intake the few days before the long runs/marathon?
Other than Dr. Sears bars-any good ideas on how to zone during the race without gels, powerade, etc?
Thanks!!
Sue

Hi Erin,
1. No need to.
2. No need to.
3. Do a search of the forums for all posts by ADELA00. She is a marathon runner from Belgium (aka Martha) who I've been helping here in the forums now and then, and she's had excellent results.
When is your marathon? Have fun with it and good luck to you and your dad!

Thanks, I will definitely look at what she is doing. I'm doing the Disney World Marathon in January. Heard that it is a good "first-timer" one!
