I was just looking on AOL and there was a story about a 700 pound man. Of course, it turned out to be Manuel Uribe. He took a trip to the lake with his girlfriend. They had to use a forklift to put him on a truck.

I saw that story about Mauel in our local paper. In the article that I was reading there was no mention made of the fact that Mauel lost all of the weight following The Zone Diet ( I hate using the word Diet) by Barry Sears!
Did you happen to notice if it was mentioned in the article that you read on AOL?
I'm very curious about it.

Sue, I am enjoying watching the manuel Uribe weight loss. You did good losing weight too. You didn't look that big on your before picture, but I'm sure you know what you weighed. good going!

Yes, I definitely know what I weighed, lol! I was a too tight size 22 pants, and I'm now a size 8.

I was wondering - is there any new information on how Manuel is doing?

On some show with him a woman was having gastric bypass and said 'I'm gonna add him as my facebook friend, but i've never seen him on facebook. Although she could have been talking about Allen Mata from Big Medicine. I watch a lot of Discovery Weight shows and they tend to blur into a giant show...

I had the Zone book kicking around my house for 10 years untill I saw Manuels show, it inspired me to give it a try as nothing else has worked for me and I have alot of physical challenges too, I am calling them in the morning as the block calculator does not go big enough for big people, it should. It would be nice to hear how he is doing, he is a big inspiration to me, I love his sense of humor, and outlook.

Hi vicki!

A tip, Dr. Sears' usual advice for people who are larger than the limits of the calculator is to assume 50% body fat and use 0.6 for the activity level. Your daily protein requirement (in grams) would be calculated as follows: multiply on half of your total weight times 0.6. To find your daily block requirement, divide you protein requirement by 7 (there are 7 grams of protein in 1 block).

I have heard of Manuel, but I had never heard it was Dr. Sears and the Zone. I tried searching for more recent information and found none. Does anyone know how he is doing?
