Did anyone besides me see the ABC show "The Outsiders" last night? The second half of last night's show was a piece by John Quinones about Manuel Uribe. Among other things, they showed his recent outing and also showed him passing on the birthday cake at his girlfriend's birthday party. Go Manuel! You can do it! I was going to post a link to it here, but so far I've been unable to find it on ABC.com |

Oh that's good. I thought perhaps I had missed some of it.
It sure is inspirational to watch this man's progress.

omg i saw it too and i can't believe how far he has come and how strong he stands and won't let anyone talk him out of keeping in the zone. He was the reason i recently got in the zone... i had heard of this way of living before and thought of it as one more diet until i saw his story on tv back home in Mexico :-) |

Hi Aussie Jan Here I seem to have to say that at the beggining of my comments so that you know which Jan is posting LOL. They had a story here in Oz on a current affairs show about Manuel. I watched specifically to see how he was going. Sadly the story was quite old and I found out more from this site but mainly I was disappointed they never mentioned the Zone when they talked about how much weight he had lost. Maybe I should e-mail them and ask them to give the Zone some air time. What do you think? |

I think the Zone does need some air time, especially in the US. Can you imagine if the United States and many other countries around the world set up nutritional standards that were closely related to the Zone? The global economy would almost come to a stand still. All of the bread, pasta, cereal, production and products associated with them would be looking for air. |

Ha ha ha ha! That's very true Brigitte! But don't you think it would help vegetable and fruit prices to be more competitive? Here in Mexico it is a lot cheaper to buy a loaf of bread than a couple of apples! Hate that! Don't you?
XOXO. |

It's not cheap in the US either. I have to say that it's more expensive to eat healthy fruits and vegetables than it is to have grain products. |

How true that is! I remember noticing this the first time I put together a shopping list to eat in the Zone! OUCH! Now, it is anticipated that I am just going to shell out a few extra $$. Not as much of a shell-shock as it was when I first began! |
