I have been in the Zone going on six weeks. I hit a dead stop after the first week and decided to add the fish oils to the daily routine. I purchased the Omega RX and take the four capsules before dinner. I work out 5-6 days a week with a combo of circuit training (fairly heavy weights keeping heart rate above 150 BPM, or at 85%) for 30-40 minutes then moving to cardio for 30-40 minutes keeping heart rate between 150-168bpm or at 95-100%. Should I be using a combination of Omega AND EccoPro? or one or the other? How do I find the correct combo if that is the case? The site tells you to check a particular thread, but I can't seem to find it. Any advice? I would really like to see a difference on the scale sometime soon. I can't imagine a one year stand still.

    Hi Dorthy:

The elite athletes using Zone Labs omega-3 concentrates (see the article on the Slipstream Team on the home page) don't report weight loss associated with taking fish oil but rather performance improvements during training due to the inflammation control.

WOW!! I went to the page you recommended and got ZERO info. I FINALLY found the Eicosanoid Status Report and also received ZERO information on how to obtain a combination of the capsules, use one or the other, or not to take them at all. I am finding this site and the off shoot to be of little help. The forum is the only place to get real answers. VERY FRUSTRATING!!!! DOES ANY ONE KNOW? What has worked and how do I figure out what will be helpful and what is a "waist" of money?

    Hi Dorthy:

EicoPro is the product for elite athletes, and it sounds like you might be one. Just use the product and see if you feel improvement in your training performance. It works for other athletes, and I believe it will work for you. This product is not about losing weight. When you say "waist" of money, I interpret that as an expectation of weight loss. Again, it's inflammation in relation to sports performance.

Mixing in other omega-3 concentrates is subjective matter based on how your body responds. There's no right answer and no right mix. Everyone is different. Some athletes do mix some EicoPro with OmegaRx, most don't. The best thing you could do is to call a Zone Professional between 9AM and 5PM at 1-800-404-8171. There's a couple of people there that work with the Zone athletes, and they can walk you through the process to customize a solution that's right for you.

Thank you for responding. I will call the number and see what they have to say. I do want to lose another 8 lbs or so and 5% more body fat. I am 152 and 22% BF right now. 5'7 32' ab at belly button (24" at waist) and 38" hips, I also want to continue to improve performance. At 40 years old and a Police Officer, staying at any thing other than peak is not an option. I have seen improvments in the amount of weight I use during each circuit, but the scale and % of body fat needs to change. Thanks again. If you come up with any thing else, please let me know!
