How do I divide up my blocks

    What's the best way to divide up your blocks throughout the day?

    I'm 6'5" and have an LBM of 236 so I'm supposed to have 24 blocks per day.

    should I just have more snacks throughout the day? this might actually work better for me.

    You can do whatever works for you. Just don't consume more than 5 blocks in one sitting. I need 13 blocks/day so I do 3 meals and 4 snacks.

    Yes, that's fine Kevin. The goal is to spread your food throughout the day, always eating in Zone balance, so that there's protein available to your body continuously.

    I was thinking about how to divide that up and thought I could basically have 6 4block meals spread out throughout my day.

    24 blocks
    / 4 blocks
    = 6 meals

    over my waking period (6:10am - 9:30-10pm) this would work out to a 4 block meal at around 6:30, 9:30, 12:30, 3:30, 6:30, and 9:30.

    Is this too much before bed? and should I shift more of that to the morning?

    I'd go with 1 or 2 blocks at bed instead of 4. You could easily add a glass of milk to a 4 block meal, changing it to 5, to use up some of those 4 blocks at 9:30.

    Hi there,
    I am new (this evening to the zone!)
    am not sure I totally understand how much I am allowed to eat .... I have worked out that I am allowed 11 blocks. So does this mean 3 meals of 3 blocks each and 2 blocks of snacks ?
    I might sound totally novice and trust me, I am ! Thanks for your help and advice.

    A, for starters, you can determine you daily block requirement using the Zone Block & Body Fat Calculator (link at right). Yes, 3 meals of 3 blocks each and2 snacks of 1 block each is one way to divide 11 blocks throughout the day.
