Just started zone diet 4 days ago. I was wondering when you measure your food before or after cooking it? There are two different meaasurements for raw or cooked vegetables. Which one do you use? Also, it seems like there is a lot of food to eat? Maybe too much. Do you force yourself to eat it all or do you stop when you are full?

    Hi!

Meat and fish usually before, excpet for those which are pre-cooked like deli-style meat.

Use raw for raw veggies, cooked for cooked veggies.

Use a variety of carbs with different volumes per block to result in a normal sized meal. (There are photos of Zone meals in the album in my signature below.)

Newbie - if you are tyring to get your carbs from only Broccoli/Cabbage/Lettuce/Etc... you woudl have to eat tons!!! Trust me been there done that it is impossible. I usually split up the Carbs between Veggies & Fruit. For Example I am a three block girl - so i wil have a cup of squash cooked and a nectarine that is my three. If I am starving I will through in a cup of Broccoli or salad with some Balsamic vinegar and not even count it as a carb. One Carb I love and it satisfies my sweet tooth is CHERRIES they are expensive but worth every penny!!!
