I'm an avid exerciser and feel my diet is 90% on.. However, I can't seem to get my body fat down or weight down with much effort. (28%) body fat. I never miss a day of exercising I do cardio hard core for 60-80 minutes daily followed by weight training so I'm at the gym an hour 1/2 to 2 hours daily. On top of that I follow it up with a walk later in the afternoon. I never eat that badly and still remain at 28% body fat and can't seem to get down on the scale either. Also feel really rundown later in the day because of all this exercise it's exhauting however, I can't seem to take a day off with the fact that I'm afraid of gaining weight plus I don't like the way I feel. I just turned 40 is this why??? Soo Frustrated..... |

Just an outside guess, but I wonder if you are stressing yourself too much? If you are training in the gym to that degree you could be producing too much cortisol, which is raising insulin levels. |

Deborah, either or both of the two things you mentioned in your post, diet being 90% on and exercise tiring you, could be contributing to not seeing the progress you're expecting. Try practicing stricter dietary adherence (some people need stricter adherence than others) and try doing the intense cardio and strength training in two sessions a day , separated by hours, not immediately following each other (it will help to prevent cortisol levels from rising a much; elevated cortisol will work against maintaining eicosanoid balance). Diet will have greater impact on your loss of stored fat than your exercise. Also, recheck you protein/block requirement to be sure you're eating enough to support your activity level.
Good luck!
